SPECIALIST THERAPY SUPPORT CENTRAL COAST

A welcoming place for families with concerns about their little one's development

When your child needs a little extra

Some children thrive with a bit of additional specialist support - for communication, behaviour, emotional regulation, social connection or everyday development. If that sounds like your family, you're in the right place.

Our team of accredited therapists and early intervention specialists works alongside families to understand what's going on and find approaches that actually fit into real life. We're not interested in compliance-based models or checklists - we're interested in children feeling more confident, connected and capable.

You don't need a referral to reach out, and you don't need a diagnosis to get started.

What our parent programs involve

Some of our most effective work happens with the grown-ups. These evidence-based programs give parents and caregivers practical skills, strategies and genuine confidence - and the research consistently shows that when caregivers feel equipped, children make better progress.

Hanen Programs

Internationally recognised programs that teach caregivers how to support their child's communication through everyday interactions and routines. We offer It Takes Two to Talk (for children with language delays), More Than Words (for families of children on the autism spectrum) and Talkability (for verbal autistic children developing social communication).

How we work

We work from a neuroaffirming, family-centred approach. That means we recognise that children develop differently from one another - and that difference isn't a deficit. Our role is to understand your child's strengths and challenges and find the approaches most likely to help them participate, communicate and connect more fully in everyday life.

Caregivers are central to everything we do. When parents and carers feel genuinely confident and equipped - not just informed, but capable - children grow. That's why many of our programs work as much with caregivers as with the child directly.

We work closely with GPs, paediatricians, preschools, childcare centres and other allied health providers across the Central Coast - so if your family is already connected to other services, we'll work alongside them rather than in isolation.

We come to where children already are

Wherever possible, we bring support into the spaces children already know and feel comfortable in - homes, preschools, childcare centres and community settings - as well as delivering services from our clinic.

We also work directly with educators and childcare staff to build their confidence in supporting children with developmental differences within their everyday programs. If you're a preschool or childcare service looking for training or consultation, we'd love to hear from you.

Telehealth is available across NSW for families who face barriers to attending in person -  including families in regional areas, those on waitlists elsewhere or those for whom getting out the door is genuinely hard right now.

All abilities welcome

Our specialist programs support children with a wide range of needs - including developmental delay, autism, communication differences, neurodivergence, sensory processing challenges and behavioural concerns. We also work with families who are still in the process of working out what's going on - children don't need a diagnosis to access our support, and families don't need a referral to make contact.

If you're on a waitlist somewhere else and need support in the meantime, get in touch. We'd rather start something helpful now than have you wait.

Finding your way in

Navigating funding for a child's therapy can feel overwhelming. We try to make it as straightforward as possible.

Our specialist services are available through:

  • Medicare - Eligible children may be able to access sessions through a GP Management Plan or relevant Medicare programs. We can help you understand whether your child is likely to qualify and how to set this up with your GP or paediatrician.
  • NDIS - We support self-managed and plan-managed participants. If you're working through the NDIS access process for the first time, we can help you understand what to ask for and how to get started - including what to include in your planning meeting.
  • Private health insurance - Some services may be partially rebated depending on your level of extras cover.
  • Private funding - Available without a referral, a plan or a wait.
  • Community and grant-funded programs - From time to time we are able to offer subsidised or low-cost programs through community funding and grants. Get in touch to find out what's currently available.

Not sure which option suits your family? Get in touch and we'll help you work it out - no pressure, no obligation.

The earlier the better - but it's never too late to start

Early support genuinely makes a difference. But so does support that starts at six months, or two years, or the week before school. Whatever stage you're at, we'd rather hear from you than have you keep wondering.
