EARLY SUPPORT & SCREENING CENTRAL COAST

A welcoming community for families to ask questions and feel supported

That feeling when something doesn't quite seem right

Every parent knows it. That quiet, nagging sense that something might be worth paying attention to. Maybe your child isn't talking as much as other kids their age. Maybe mealtimes are really hard. Maybe they seem to struggle with transitions or sensory experiences in ways that feel bigger than you'd expect.

You don't have to wait for a diagnosis to seek support. And you don't have to be certain something is wrong to reach out.

Our early support team is here to help you understand what you're observing - and figure out the most helpful next step, whatever that looks like for your family.

You’re welcome here - whether you're looking for connection, guidance or support for your child’s development.

What early support and screening looks like

We offer a range of screening, assessment and guidance pathways for families with questions about their child's development. Our team includes specialist educators and early childhood therapists with experience supporting children across communication, behaviour, sensory processing, emotional regulation, feeding and developmental milestones.

No referral is needed to start a conversation.

Screening & assessment pathways

Screening & assessment pathways we support:

Communication screeners

A starting-point check-in to help understand how your child's speech and language development is tracking.

Developmental Assessments

A broader look at how your child is developing across communication, learning, behaviour, social skills and emotional wellbeing.

Autism screening

We use the Mosaic Developmental Assessment alongside the Bayley Scales for early identification and a fuller picture of your child's development.

Communication assessments

In-depth assessment of speech, language, social communication and interaction.

Adaptive Behaviour Assessments

Looking at everyday life skills, independence and how your child is functioning across home and community settings.

Feeding Assessments

Identifying challenges with eating, swallowing or nutrition to support healthy growth and confident mealtimes.

All children and all families are welcome

Our early support programs sit alongside our playgroups, classes and community programs-because we believe developmental support shouldn't be separate from everyday life.

Families come to us for all kinds of reasons

  • They've noticed something and want to understand it better
  • Their child has a diagnosis and they want practical strategies
  • They're on a waitlist somewhere else and need support in the meantime
  • Their GP or childcare educator suggested getting a second opinion
  • They just want to know they're on the right track

You don't need to arrive with a neat summary of the problem. Just come.

What happens after a screening or assessment?

If additional support is recommended, our team can often provide that continuity of care - through speech pathology, early intervention, supported programs or specialist therapy. We'll always talk through the options clearly and help you understand what's available through Medicare, NDIS funding or private pathways.

If a referral elsewhere makes more sense, we'll help you navigate that too. We work closely with GPs, paediatricians, audiologists and other local providers to make sure families don't have to start from scratch every time.

Getting support early doesn't mean something is wrong

Most of the time, early support gives families clarity, practical tools and the reassurance that they're doing the right things. Sometimes it opens doors to more specialist care. Either way, knowing is always better than wondering.

We believe every family deserves to feel informed and supported - not just the ones who've already found the right words for what they're experiencing.
